...the temptation to unintentionally detach from the Mary-posture to keep the Martha-productivity hoppin' and poppin' happens more frequently than we'd all like to admit.

...because of the demand on her schedule, the ever-explosive family calendar, the church calendar to fulfill, and a little less emotional reserve to spare, she runs away from, instead of running toward, connection with other ministry wives. It's just one more thing she doesn't feel is worth it.

You may not feel the need to escape a gun-slinging cowboy who's had a few too many, but there is undoubtedly respite that can only be found when you head out of town.

Church life brings its own increased heat, between Vacation Bible School, camps, float trips, and filling in all the gaps for those beautiful volunteers who are traveling abroad or at the lake every weekend. And, if we aren't careful, everybody is finding some way to recharge...except you.
